The DFM is fully committed to corporate social responsibility on various levels and particularly through its high level collaboration with educational institutions in the UAE, in order to fully support the educational efforts of these institutions and provide the necessary training for students to prepare them for the job market.

The Dubai Financial Market DFM has launched several educational trading floors in some of the leading colleges and universities across the UAE; a leading initiative among the regional financial markets. This development reaffirms the exchange's commitment to corporate social responsibility and its continuous efforts to enhance the educational environment through linking theoretical studies with practical experience and offering students an opportunity to learn interactively.

As a micro-version of the DFM's main trading floor, the educational trading floors at the colleges and universities includes two screens and a ticker directly linked with DFM's trading engine to display trading activity and real-time market data. The walls of the trading floor have been designed to reflect the precise look and feel of DFM's trading floor. As part of its plans to enhance the effectiveness of the educational trading floor, the DFM plans to regularly organize interactive workshops in co-operation with renowned experts to train students and deepen their knowledge of financial markets.

The Dubai Financial Market DFM organizes a series of seminars and roadshows at major educational institutions in the UAE to explain the nature of the DFM Stock Game competition and its main features to the students and their professors. Moreover, DFM holds specialized workshops on technical analysis, which is the latest addition to the competition.

These will be replicated in light of the huge success that has recently been achieved. DFM has organized several workshops on technical analysis for the participants of the stock games in cooperation with different brokerage houses. The DFM objectives are to reduce the risk of pollution through our processes and commit to recycling and using recycled materials wherever possible.

Over-consumption of power represents the biggest threat to the environment and results in noticeable climate change over time. As part of the effort to minimize our carbon footprint, the DFM encourages the employees to turn off lights after hours in the offices and shut down printers, computers and monitors. The Dubai Financial Market DFM organizes a blood donation campaign in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority, in which DFM staff, investors and employees of brokerage firms participate to support Thalassemia patients and accident casualties.

The campaign which takes place at the DFM involves the distribution of guidance booklets and leaflets highlighting information on blood donation and answering frequently asked questions, including the benefits of blood donation, frequency of donation, and the persons eligible to donate.

A medical unit which includes one physician and seven nurses is set up; they in turn contribute to the success of the campaign and fulfilling its objectives. The Dubai Financial Market is keen to launch such initiatives which reflect its firm commitment to society. Blood donation is, undoubtedly a priority considering the crucial role it plays in saving the lives of many, particularly children suffering from Thalassemia, patients with leukemia and those who are in need of frequent blood transfusions, in addition to many others who are being treated for other serious diseases or undergoing surgeries, as well as accident casualties.

The Stock Game is an initiative from the Dubai Financial Market aimed at nurturing a new generation of investors and achieving a high level of awareness of financial services and investment.

During the last few years, the competition has received a phenomenal response from various educational institutions attracting almost 10, participants from across 40 educational institutions.

During the course of The DFM Stock Game, students have the opportunity to virtually trade in securities listed on the Dubai Financial Market through the market website, following the live prices during trading hours. Each student receives a virtual amount of AED 1,, and can use it to buy and sell shares and securities during the competition.

The DFM offers students the chance to trade in a real marketplace according to the corporate actions which take place during the competition, such as dividends, bonus shares and the closure of the register are implemented similarly to the real market.

Winners are identified by the gains achieved during the competition.
