Each brush was individually protected at the top and bottom with a plastic covering. When I started to use them I immediately noticed how great the precision is. The hairs on the brush are soft and fine. They hold the make-up well and transfer it easy. I haven't washed them yet, but I will update the review once I see how they perform after a cleaning. Now, I have used only MAC brushes so maybe I am spoiled but these are not as soft. The blush brush is scratchy. I watch YouTube videos and every makeup artist uses them. These were a let down. Some of the brushes seem like duplicates of each other. However, it is a bargain. The powder and fan brushes are great.

I can't say if they are authentic Morphe brushes, but they're great nonetheless. The only issue I had was the smell of the case, which most people mentioned was very chemical smelling. I threw it out and washed the brushes before using them and the smell is gone.
